This often happens at the end of a match but not ones wish in everyday life - to spend your time injured, however it can create a focused momentum within other life areas as you rehabilitate and dare I say, even I needed that.
I am a big believer that everything happens for a reason, no matter what it is, you get to decide whether you see the benefits or the drawbacks. You may have heard of ‘Fergie Time’ and that exhilarating environment it creates and the results it produced, but what if you could choose to switch this on at will?
I’ve have already achieved everyday dreams and so have you if you think about what you have in your life already, the one I am focused on within this blog is creating, supporting and aiding people to either start their own dream or join in on this journey and go as far as qualifying for playing for the Republic of Ireland over 70’s team and thus focusing every day on doing what it takes to be in with a chance.
I’ve 36 years of preparation to go before my 70th birthday and who knows what is going to happen next – that is what excites me the most. People will joke, comment, laugh and some will even aspire to joining in and all of that is what it’s all about.
Imagine if every day or week you did your ultimate best on nutrition intake, sleep, mental health, cardio, muscle and stretch exercise – what kind of a body would you be living in?
You may know of people (I do) who are 70 years old, can run marathons, still kick a ball around, do a few solos and still have the ability to achieve great things. Yes they may have been lucky with injury, job type and overall genetic health yet much of this you are still in control of.
If are sitting down all day then stand and stretch more, if you are standing get the right footwork, strong body, take a seat when you can and relax properly.
So what about player qualification? So far people have asked me who is going to play? This mission is focused on inspiring people to link their overall health and longevity to achieving a lifelong dream so it drives them daily. I will earn my place on the team and you can too. Like all Republic of Ireland squads there will be a starting 11 with at least 3 substitutes. I wish to have at least 3 retired national team greats on either side of the pitch and with my family connection with Germany I will in time start engaging the German nation in this initiative.
So qualification rules will apply and those who earn it the most will play. Lock out for my next topic where I will be discussing my take on the 3 D’s - Desire, Discipline, and Dedication.
Only yours truly,
Karl Ryan
